EASTBOURNE UNPLUGGED – 2025 COMPETITION RULES & CONDITIONS

1. Eligibility
• Open to residents of Eastbourne and the Bays south of Howard Point only.
• No age restriction.
• Entries must be original works — No plagiarism. Parodies are fine if significantly adapted.

2. How It Works
• Submit your lyrics, suggest a genre, and name your fantasy performer.
• MEGA selects finalists and produces custom music + video clips.
• The grand final event will feature public event & screening, judging, and one winner.

3. The Prize
• Winner takes all: $500 cash prize ($300 for winner & $200 to a charity of their choice)
• Bragging rights, community fame, and a polished music video version of your song.

4. What You Submit
Each entry must include:
• Your Name
• Email Address
• Your Lyrics (in the area indicated) Duration up to 3 minutes.
• Suggested Genre (e.g. Pop, Rock, Disco, Jazz, Metal, Country-Reggae-Techno)
• Fantasy Artist (anyone from Taylor Swift to Meat Loaf to Dame Kiri)

OPTIONAL:
If you want to star in your own video, send a clear, high-quality photo of yourself with your submission. (jpg or png file)  Send to theoffice@mega.kiwi.nz
No guarantees, but we may feature you in AI-generated video form.

5. Entry Limit
• Up to 3 entries per person or household.

6. Deadline
• Entries will remain open until we have a minimal number of participants. All will be advised when this has been achieved. 

7. Rights
• You keep your lyrics.
• By entering, you give MEGA permission to produce, adapt, and publicly screen your entry.

8. Judging
• Finalists chosen by MEGA. (The decisions are final)(No discussion entered into)
• Winner selected by judges and audience vote at the final event.

9. Performance
• No live singing required.
• All music and video production is handled behind the scenes by MEGA.
